Beauty review - l'oreal paris pure clay detox mask
High street beauty has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. And spa beauty especially has gotten so much better. This is great news for me because i'm a sucker for an at-home beauty night. But the ideal clay face mask has long eluded me.
But last year L'oreal answered my beauty dreams and brought out a range of three new clays masks. I've been dying to try the black charcoal one since they were released and when I spotted they were on offer I had to indulge.
The three masks address different skincare concerns. The one I chose was the black charcoal one which helps detox the skin and brighten your complexion.
Charcoal is in soo many beauty products these days (even toothpaste). It's beauty properties are well known so I won't ramble on about that. But in basic terms it acts like a magnet to dirt, sucking it out. This mask contains charcoal, kaolinite, montmorillonite and ghassoul. The last three are all pure clays.
This product was great to use. Went on easily, dried quickly and left my skin feeling clean, smooth and detoxed. My complexion looked a lot brighter, my skintone was more even and my foundation went on easier and more smoothly.
The other two in the range are the red clay one which exfoliates and refines the skin and the green one which purify's and mattify's.
You can use the masks in conjunction with each other. So for example if one area on your face needs refining and another needs brightening then you could apply each mask to the problem area that the product addresses.
To use: apply an even layer of the mask to a thoroughly cleansed face and leave on for ten minutes. Use three times a week!
I was very impressed with this mask. The scent is neutral and doesn't overpower your senses. The consistency makes it easy to apply. Have a wet flannel at hand to remove but if you're anything like me you'll still miss a spot. It is currently on offer in their 3 for 2 offer from Boots.
